Aromatherapy and Herbal Remedies for Pregnancy, Birth, and Breastfeeding is a beautifully printed 192-page book that provides a solid overview and background of aromatherapy and herbalism, safety information and a large selection of herbal remedies and aromatherapy recipes for use (as the name states) during pregnancy, birth and while breastfeeding.
Demetria Clark includes lists of essential oils to completely avoid as well as essential oils to avoid during pregnancy. Her list (and thus also her recipes) differ in some ways from that presented by Robert Tisserand and Rodney Young within Essential Oil Safety, Edition 2. That is, of course, expected as different experts base their recommendations and precautions on their differing experiences and access to research. Armed with both books, those who are pregnant can gain a solid foundation for integrating aromatherapy safely into the pregnancy and breastfeeding.
