Within this third edition of Essential Oils, author Jennifer Peace Rhind has outdone herself. Compared to the second edition, this updated edition is at least double in size and is well referenced.
I admire Jennifer Peace Rhind and the publisher for choosing to name this extensive and significantly updated book as a "Comprehensive Handbook" instead of a "Complete Handbook." As much as I greatly respect the authors that have written books that have named their books "The Complete...", no single aromatherapy edition can ever be complete. The field is just too vast.
If you consider purchasing the third edition of Essential Oils, consider purchasing it as a Kindle or eBook even if you normally prefer physical books. The print version is over 900 pages but only includes a brief Table of Contents, Essential Oil Index, Author and Subject Index. The indexes are not thorough enough for a book that is this extensive. With Kindle and I presume with other eBooks, you can perform more in-depth searches for words and phrases that may not be in the actual index(es).
