Tobacco Absolute

Nicotania tabacum

Flowering tobacco plants similar to those used to produce Tobacco Absolute

Description

Tobacco Absolute possesses a deep, cigar-like tobacco aroma. It is primarily used within the scope of natural fragrancing and perfumery.

It is especially nice to include in blends and formulations for men and blends that need a more masculine note.

I especially love using Tobacco Absolute in natural perfumery blends at a very low dilution to help soften and add depth to the fragrance.

Tobacco Plantation

Tobacco Absolute can also be helpful to those who are trying to quit smoking. For more information, please refer to AromaWeb's Guide to Essential Oils and Aromatherapy Techniques That May Help With Your Efforts to Quit Smoking.

Tobacco Absolute Benefits and Uses

In addition to its possible use to help curb cravings when trying to quite smoking, Tobacco Absolute is primarily used within fragrancing and perfumery applications.

Tobacco Absolute Safety Information

The second edition of Essential Oil Safety does not include a profile for Tobacco Absolute (that I could find). Using Tobacco Absolute topically in extremely low dilutions may be prudent. [Robert Tisserand, Essential Oil Safety (United Kingdom: Churchill Livingstone, 1995), 211.]

General Safety Information

If you are pregnant, epileptic, have liver damage, have cancer, or have any other medical problem, use oils only under the proper guidance of a qualified aromatherapy practitioner.
