Easy Aromatherapy Shower Gel Recipe
I was torn on what title to give this recipe because this recipe isn't made from scratch, and I'm not trying to be misleading. Making a liquid shower gel base from scratch can be quite complex and can take quite a bit of experimentation. Instead, we begin by working with an unscented shower gel base and add essential oils. Very easy!
- 7 fl. ounces Unscented Shower Gel Base (sellers of natural products and aromatherapy products sometimes sell SLS-free unscented shower gel)
- 50 drops of Lavender Essential Oil
Heed the safety precautions for each essential oil that you use and avoid essential oils that are contraindicated for anyone in your household that may use the shampoo.
Add about 7 fl. oz. of Unscented Shower Gel Base to a mixing bowl and blend in your essential oil. Mix very well. Use a funnel to pour your shower gel into the 8 oz. bottle.
Enjoy experimenting with other skin safe essential oils in this recipe. But do be sure to heed the safety precautions for each essential oil that you use and avoid essential oils that are known to cause skin irritation.
Apply as you would use a typical shower gel.
