Aromatherapy Shoe Deodorizer Recipe
Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons baking soda
- 4 tablespoons cornstarch (preferably Non-GMO)
(4 additional tablespoons of baking soda can be used if cornstarch isn't on hand) - 4 drops Lavender Essential Oil
When using essential oils, be sure to follow all safety precautions and avoid essential oils that are contraindicated for anyone living in your household.
Directions
Mix the cornstarch and baking soda together in a bowl. Gradually add the essential oils, and stir very well to incorporate the oils. Store in an airtight container. Powder Sifter containers are ideal.
Instructions for Use
Lightly sprinkle the deodorizer into shoes in the evenings or at times when the shoes will not be worn for several hours. Do not use too much. Before wearing, go outside (wearing other shoes), turn the shoes upside down and tap on the soles to eliminate the powder from the interior of the shoes. Do not get the powder on the exterior of shoes with fragile surfaces that could be harmed by essential oils.
