Ledum Essential Oil

Ledum groenlandicum / Rhododendron groenlandicum

Ledum Essential Oil

Description

Ledum Essential Oil is also known as Labrador Tea Essential Oil and Greenland Moss Essential Oil.

Ledum Essential Oil is steam distilled from the leaves of the plant species Ledum groenlandicum, an evergreen shrub that belongs to the Ericaceae plant family.

Bottle Depicting the Typical Color of Ledum Essential Oil

According to the Ledum Essential Oil GC/MS reports that I've studied, the oil appears to be typically comprised of approximately 50-65% monoterpenes, 10-20% sesquiterpenes and 5-15% Monoterpenols. Some sources state that Ledum Essential Oil contains up to 35% limonene (a monoterpene), but I haven't seen more than 5% limonene present within the GC reports that I've accessed.

Ledum Essential Oil is a wonderful oil to use for helping to support and balance the emotions. It is particularly admired for its ability to help ease anxiety and calm the mind.

Not much has been stated about the spiritual uses and benefits of Ledum Essential Oil, but I find it beneficial when used during prayer and meditation. I love blending it with sustainably sourced Palo Santo Essential Oil and Frankincense Essential Oil for meditation and reflection.

Ledum Essential Oil is also appreciated for its potential to support the immune system and promote respiratory health.

Refer to the Ledum Essential Oil Uses section below for more information on the uses and benefits of this intriguing oil.

Ledum Essential Oil blends well with many other essential oils, particularly with oils that have aromatic classifications of citrus, coniferous, fruity, green, earthy resinous or woody.
