Patchouli Hydrosol

Pogostemon cablin

Patchouli Hydrosol

I'm a patchouli lover, and this will surely be a hydrosol that I enjoy working with as often as possible.

It's "earthiness" lends itself well to masculine and unisex blends. Patchouli Oil is considered an aphrodisiac, and I see Patchouli Hydrosol playing a part in blends formulated for romance. Julia Lawless states that Patchouli Oil can be helpful for frigidity, and I see the possibilities for the hydrosol potentially helping to calm nerves and inhibitions that lead to frigidity.

For emotional and spiritual applications, I find both Patchouli Essential Oil and Patchouli Hydrosol to be especially grounding and calming.

The smell of Patchouli Hydrosol is more green in aroma than that of the essential oil. Its aroma possesses the earthy qualities that Patchouli Essential Oil is known for, but in a much more subtle and fresher way. For those that think that Patchouli Essential Oil is too strong, too earthy or too harsh, you might love Patchouli Hydrosol.
