Hydrosol Therapy is a beautiful book for those looking to expand their knowledge of the therapeutic uses, culinary suggestions and energetic applications for over 45 hydrosols. Refer to the Table of Contents, shown below, for a list of the specific hydrosols covered. Each hydrosol profile includes the following information:

    Portrait of the Plant
    • Botanical Family
    • Part of the Plant Distilled
    • Taste
    • Aroma
  • History and Mythology
  • Experiences with the Hydrosol
  • Energy and Psycho-emotional Properties
  • Properties and Indications
  • Suggestions
  • Culinary Advice
  • Contraindications

Hydrosol Therapy includes hydrosol blends for specific conditions and a helpful multi-page chart of conditions and the hydrosols that may assist. Because this could be the only hydrosol book that some people read, I do wish Hydrosol Therapy devoted at least a couple pages to concerns with microbial contamination, proper storage and how important it is to carefully source hydrosols, especially since the book does cover ingestion. Therefore, I recommend it as an excellent book if you have already studied hydrosols with a qualified instructor or have read Hydrosols by Suzanne Catty, Understanding Hydrolats by Len and Shirley Price or Aromatic Waters by Amy Kreydin.

Description from the Back Cover of Hydrosol Therapy

This is the complete therapeutic guide to working with hydrosols. Hydrosols, also known as floral waters, are produced at the same time as essential oils through steam distillation of plants. Therapeutic use of hydrosols has become more and more popular over the last 10 years in health care, cosmetics, spa treatments and many other areas of beauty and well-being.

Translated from the original French, this book gives a complete overview of theory and practice, including detailed descriptions, testimonials and recipes, for all kinds of disorders. It includes information on how hydrosols can be used in babycare, cooking, and care for pets. It provides a clear vision of how you can easily introduce hydrosols into your daily life as well as using them for specific disorders.

Drawing on over 20 years of practising and teaching holistic health in Switzerland and across the world, Lydia Bosson provides the reader with clear information on the therapeutic properties of 47 hydrosols. This includes remedies organised by health system and guidance on how to combine hydrosols with aromatherapy.

This is her first book published in English.
