Simple and Natural Fabric Softener Recipe

vinegar

With just one ingredient, vinegar, this "recipe" couldn't be easier...

In the kitchen, I love salads and recipes that include vinegar, especially natural infused vinegars. On its own, however, the harsh fragrance of vinegar is definitely not an aroma that I deliberately seek out. Despite its abrasive smell, vinegar is affordable and does soften clothes when added to the rinse cycle. Vinegar can also help to eliminate soap residue build-up on clothing.

Directions

In place of commercial fabric softener, add 1/2 cup of vinegar to laundry during the rinse cycle.

Precaution

Avoid balsamic and other dark vinegars as they may stain clothes.
