> Obtaining Permission
AromaWeb receives countless requests from companies
and individuals that wish to use its text.
The text and images that appear on AromaWeb is
the result of countless hours of education, study, research, writing
and Web development time as well as the associated costs in education
and site maintenance. Many individuals and companies have stolen
AromaWeb's written content and have tried to use it within their
own sites to increase the sales of their products/services. Be advised
that AromaWeb is registered with the U.S. Copyright Office and has
other significant, verifiable means of proving content ownership.
AromaWeb does not tolerate unauthorized use of its content and it
has to be strict in who and how it grants permission.
Except for students who use AromaWeb's content
fairly as outlined below, this page only provides details on how
to properly submit permission requests. This page does not grant
you permission to copy, reprint or use AromaWeb's text. You must
receive WRITTEN permission as outlined below in order to use any
content on AromaWeb.
Students:
If you are using very reasonable and limited amounts
of text from AromaWeb as a part of a paper or project and properly
quote/credit AromaWeb, by all means please feel free to go ahead
and use AromaWeb like you would reasonably use any other source.
If you are using content from AromaWeb for any other purpose or
using a considerable amount of content, you must obtain express
written permission. To request permission, contact
AromaWeb.
Companies, Therapists and Educators:
Permission to use small portions of content from
AromaWeb for print use may possibly be granted if you contact
AromaWeb and specifically indicate exactly what content
you wish to use by citing the AromaWeb page URL and quoting the
exact text from that page that you want to use. You must
also state exactly how you will use it, and including your
Web site URL, your complete name, title, address and telephone number.
If you wish for the text to appear on your Web site, you must provide
the exact URL that you intend the text to appear on if the page
exists. Your site must be accessible to me for me to be able to
consider your request (i.e. if your site is new and in development,
I must be granted rights to view it). If your request involves reprinting
AromaWeb text in print form, AromaWeb needs to receive a clear idea
of how many copies of your publication will be made and distributed,
and the method of distribution. Permission will not be granted
to anyone that does not indicate what text they wish to use (merely
indicating that you want to use AromaWeb's text on "hydrosols"
is not sufficient). It's amazing how many people ask
if they can use "some text from AromaWeb" as if they'll
be given a blanket permission statement. If permission is granted,
you will need to provide complete credit to AromaWeb. The owner
may also require a copy of the publication/document that contains
AromaWeb's text.
Due to the overwhelming number of vague permission
requests that AromaWeb receives, incomplete permission requests
will be denied and left unanswered. Not receiving a reply from AromaWeb
or failing to receive specific permission in writing from AromaWeb
is NOT grounds for reprinting AromaWeb's works without permission.
For those that wish to use full pages or sections
of text or for those that wish to use AromaWeb's text on their Web
site, AromaWeb may grant you a license to use the text for a modest
licensing fee. To inquire, please contact
AromaWeb and indicate exactly what content you wish to use,
exactly how you will use it, and your complete name, title, address
and telephone number. If your request is for publication on a Web
site, please be sure to include your Web site URL and the amount
of traffic that your Web site receives.
